Antonio Caprara, 26, of Beachwood was headed south in the shoulder of the Garden State Parkway near Exit 81 (Lakehurst Road) in Toms River on a motorcycle and collided with a dirt bike in the acceleration ramp.

Toms River police chief Mitch Little said the toddler went under in a backyard pool on Hazelwood Road after 5 p.m. but referred further inquiries about the incident to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

Mitch Little, who has been with the department since 1986 and was appointed chief in 2014, will have a final "walk out" on Friday afternoon.
