WESTFIELD —Roughly at the heart of Union County, Westfield has long prided itself on being walkable.

With a population of roughly 32,000, the town spans less than seven square miles, nestled in between Fanwood, Garwood, Mountainside and Clark.

The top five restaurants — one of them a bagel shop — each had well over 125,000 visits within a one year’s span, based on data as explained below.

It’s not too surprising that Westfield Diner was in first place, with the most traffic — as the spot has been bustling since it first opened, decades ago.

The very same day I got my driver’s license in the, ehm, 1990s — I picked up a couple friends, we saw a movie and then we went for “breakfast food as a late-night” snack at Westfield Diner.

One restaurant I was surprised didn’t register with more traffic is a seafood lover’s dream — Limani Seafood Grill.

Limani is rooted in the owning family’s Greek background. It’s a popular spot at 235 North Ave West.

Of the top 20 most visited spots, the food ranges from Italian, to sushi and seafood, a steakhouse and two longtime diners, among other offerings.
